As badass as Neville was, as much of a HBIC McGonagall was, as much as we cheered on Molly Weasley, as much as we screamed when Harry took on Voldemort during the Battle of Hogwarts... We all seem to forget that Percy Weasley Transfigured Pius Thicknesse into a Sea Urchin.
(Conservative commentator Glenn Beck) questioned the use of “African-American” on his Tuesday show, arguing “colored” or “black” is more appropriate.
Fresh off the heels of his Restoring Courage event in Israel, Beck asked his co-host, Pat Gray, “Correct me if I am wrong. Didn’t you feel ridiculously stupid everywhere in Africa, in Europe, in South America, in Jerusalem, when you would say the words ‘African-American?’”
Gray responded, “Oh, yeah, because it doesn’t apply there,” to which Beck said, “It doesn’t apply! Now how can people be one thing in one country and nowhere else in the world?”
His co-host asked Beck what the correct phrase is. Beck exclaimed “black,” adding “colored” was appropriate, too, arguing that it is used in places like South Africa.
“It’s not a bad thing, only here. Why are we made to feel bad?” the former Fox News personality said about the term “colored.”
Beck then theorized why “African-American” is commonplace.
“‘African-American’ was not made to do anything except try to create a super man,” Beck insisted.
If you don’t like the blog that makes fun of Klainers, don’t read it. Put it on your blacklist. It’s called Tumblr Savior and it works wonders.
The point is, the jokes are funny because there is legitimacy behind them. There are, unfortunately, a lot of Klainers who act like that and there are plenty who’ve been lashing out at Kurtofsky shippers since the beginning. No one is innocent here.
Frankly, I think making a blog that pokes fun of Klainers is pretty benign. Some of us are treating it like the creator has committed a war crime, but he/she has every right to do so. I would defend the same right of Klainer who made a ‘You know you’re a Kurtofsky shipper when…’ (though I can only guess the end part of that sentence would be ‘you molest effeminate guys in locker rooms’ or something akin to that).
No, not every Klaine-shipper behaves like that and many of us are aware of the fact. If you know that you don’t act like that, why should the blog bother you? It’s obviously not meant to be poking fun at you, and even it was, who the fuck cares? Keep shipping Klaine and move on with your life. It’s just a tumblr blog.
Can we all get along? No, and we never will, so that pipe dream might as well be thrown out. Even if the creator of that blog were to delete it, do you think people would automatically stop their little raids of the Kurtofsky tag with the obligatory ‘I hate Kurtofsky’ post? No, this the Glee Fandom, for crying out loud.
I’m just waiting for the “You Know You’re a Kurtofsky Shipper” blog that does the same thing and some of the same people laughing at the Klainer blog are going to be all upset and say that the Klainer 12’s are picking on them.
The creator has every right to make the YKYAKW blog, that doesn’t mean it’s a not stupid choice. Because really, that’s just as immature as the people who tag hate. If anything, it’ll just make things worse. So thanks for that.
The constant wank from all sides in this fandom is so ridiculous. People take this show too freaking seriously in all the sub fandoms, and I honestly don’t get it.
